Saturday 21st April 2012 was the occasion for this annual event and following the Provincial Committee Meeting nearly 100 Mark Masons of the Province sat down at the Mark Mess luncheon at the Masonic Centre, Tovil.

After a splendid lunch the usual business of the Mess was transacted, the highlight of which was undoubtedly the presentation of the Silver Pin of Excellence Award to W. Bro. Kevin Johnson. W. Bro. Kevin had a few weeks earlier performed the Ceremony of Advancement in the Westwood Mark Lodge No 1354 to a very high standard which qualified him for this award. The Provincial Grand Secretary, W. Bro. Bill Balderston, read the Citation which the President of the Mess, RW Bro. Roger Croucher, PGM, then had great pleasure in presenting to W. Bro. Kevin together with the Silver Pin to be worn in the lapel and Ritual Book used by the Adjudicator in judging the ceremony. The President of the Mess congratulated W. Bro. Kevin on his achievement who already holds a similar award for the Ceremony of Elevation in the R.A.M. degree.

The names of the Brethren present who are to be honoured by the Grand Master in June were read out and congratulated.

The President announced that W. Bro. Phil Sayer was this year standing down as Secretary of the Mess. The President went on to pay tribute W. Bro. Phil and thank him for his loyal service and hard work he had put in over the years. W. Bro. Phil then rose to say that he had great pleasure in proposing W. Bro. Chris Boak, of Richard Watts Lodge No 1461 as his successor. This was seconded and duly carried.

A successful day was concluded when the Provincial Grand Senior Warden, W. Bro. Roger Odd, proposed the health and happiness of the President. .
