The new Provincial R.A.M. Standard was dedicated at the Regular meeting of Robinson R.A.M. Lodge No. 255 at Tovil on Tuesday 17th January 2012.

The meeting was attended by RW Bro. Roger Croucher, PGM, RW Bro. Roland Wade, PPGM and Dedicating Officer, W. Bros. Peter Williams, DepPGM, W. Bro. David Green and Archie Torrance APGMs together with 3 Past APGMs, a large number of active Provincial Grand Lodge Officers, members of Robinson R.A.M. Lodge and their guests.

After the Lodge was opened the PGM entered in procession and was offered the Sceptre by the Worshipful Commander, W. Bro. Bob Fisher, which was accepted. The PGM went on to explain the purpose of the meeting and was pleased that RW Bro. Roland Wade, PPGM, had accepted his invitation to be the Dedicating Officer. RW Bro. Wade then took the Chair. The Ceremony continued with the veiled Standard being carried in to the Lodge by the PGM whilst the hymn “O God our help in ages past” was sung.

The Standard was next presented to the Dedicating Officer for Dedication when it was placed in position and unveiled. A superb Oration was delivered by the Deputy Provincial Grand Chaplain, W. Bro. Howard Pashley. The Standard was paraded around the Lodge to the great delight and satisfaction of those present. The Standard was then advanced for the Deputy Provincial Grand Chaplain to deliver the Prayer of Dedication after which the Standard was formally dedicated by RW Bro. Wade and then presented to the PGM. The Ceremony was concluded with the Patriarchal Benediction.

The Brethren retired to the Festive Board during which the PGM again asked for thanks to be conveyed to Mrs Janet Stiff for creating such a wonderful Standard. The evening ended when W. Bro. David Stiff was asked to come forward so that a cheque for £500 could be presented to him for the Orchid Trust, his wife’s favoured Charity. This was gratefully received.
