Following expressions of interest from both within and outside of the Province, R.W.Bro. David J F Rawlins, our Provincial Grand Master has agreed to discussions being held abut the possibility of Consecrating a new Lodge of Mark Master Masons based in the town of Rugby in Warwickshire.

Membership of the Lodge would be open to supporters and enthusiasts of the game of Rugby. It is envisaged that the annual Installation meetings would be held in Rugby, but other meetings would be held, by dispensation, at venues chosen by the Worshipful Master. The Lodge would be held in the morning and, following lunch, the members would then attend a local rugby match. This is a pattern currently followed by the William Webb Ellis Lodge No 9754 in the Craft.

The Lodge would not Advance new Brethren into the Mark Degree, but would hear papers or speakers etc of interest.

I would be grateful if, with the permission of your Provincial Grand Master, this information could be circulated amongst the members of your Province. Any Brethren interested in becoming Founders or Joining Members of the Lodge are asked to contact me directly, preferably by email, before the end of January. It is hoped that a meeting of interested Brethren might be held in February.

Yours sincerely and fraternally

Gareth Hughes
Provincial Grand Secretary
