The main objectives of the Kent Mark Benevolent Fund are threefold:

(i) The relief and support of distressed Mark Master Masons of the Province, or their dependents as a matter of immediacy. We can dispense prompt and direct help while further assistance is sought from the Mark Benevolent Fund, Craft Charities or Social Services. Speed of reaction is our watchword.

(ii) To support in a major way the various craft Festivals of East and West Kent.

(iii) To support each year the Provincial Grand Master chairing the Festival of the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons’ Fund of Benevolence (the full title!).

Monies for our Provincial Fund are raised via charitable donations from Lodges, results of Lodge raffles and other fund-raising activities. The sponsorship and help given by Lodges and Charity Stewards in support of the Province of Kent’s annual functions, whether Garden Parties or Festivals of Ritual, has been absolutely incredible and is so much appreciated.

Our main fund raising event for this year was the Kent Mark Garden Party and Barn Dance held on Saturday 4th June in Borden at the lovely home and gardens of Ray and Julia Suddick for which we extend our warmest thanks. What a wonderful day we all had with a great attendance of Mark Masons, Families and Friends enjoying the many stalls, games and attractions. The day included the highly entertaining Burt Butler Pilgrims Jazz Band, Kurley Howells performing a range of popular Rock’n’roll hits and culminating with the Barn Dance, which proved a great success with so many joining in the fun. The day was organized by W Bro Fred Brown, and his team of W Bros Bill Taylor, Barry Fitzgerald, Peter Martin, Kieron Stewart, David Barden, David Pugh and Bro Len Sharp; our sincere thanks to Fred and the Team - a tremendous job well done. The Garden party this year raised over £17,000 for the Kent Mark Benevolent Fund, a truly wonderful result. Our thanks go to all Lodges and individuals for their tremendous sponsorship support. Our primary Fund Raising event next year will be a 'Special Festival of Mark Ritual'. This promises to be a really special event. Secretaries/ Scribes will be contacted in the new year with full details.
