Provincial Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of Kent
The 152nd Annual Festival for the Mark Benevolent Fund

In 2012 the Province of Kent launched the 152nd Annual Festival for the Mark Benevolent Fund, known to all as the ‘2020 Festival’.

As part of the fundraising strategy, the Province embarked upon achieving three stretch targets which if achieved would leave a lasting legacy for the Province:
  1. Every Mark Lodge to achieve MBF Grand Patron Gold Award
  2. Every Royal Ark Mariner Lodge to achieve MBF Vice-Patron Award
  3. Every Mark and Royal Ark Mariner Lodge to achieve Festival Provincial Bronze Award

We actually did much better than we had hoped and we can all take great delight in celebrating:
  1. Every Mark Lodge in the Province achieved an MBF Grand Patron Diamond Award. Kent is now an MBF Grand Patron Diamond Province; the first in the whole Constitution.
  2. Every Royal Ark Mariner Lodge in the Province achieved an MBF Grand Patron Gold Award with 22 Lodges going on to achieve an MBF Grand Patron Diamond Award.
  3. Out of 107 Mark and Royal Ark Mariner lodges, 105 achieved at least a 2020 Festival Provincial Bronze Award. The breakdown is as follows…
    • 33 Lodges achieved Bronze Award
    • 13 Lodges achieved Silver Award
    • 59 Lodges achieved Platinum Award (the highest available)
The full Roll of Honour can be viewed here.

Sadly, owing to the global coronavirus pandemic our Festival Result & Gala Dinner scheduled for 13th June 2020 at the Kent Event Centre & Showground had to be postponed until such time as it is safe to meet again. This clearly came as a huge disappointment to the 1,300 guests who had booked in to celebrate the success of the Festival and be entertained by a star-studded cast including Phil Collins as the special guest compere for the evening. We shall have to wait until 13th March 2021 before the overall total raised can be revealed.

We wish the brethren of the Province of Kent in the future good luck when the Province next hosts an MBF Festival in 2057.
